Chapter V

Jana felt like a thief, who tries to hide from other's eyes, when she silently walked through corridor. She hoped that she wouldn't meet anyone, as she was still so full of anger and self-hatred.

"Jana? I haven't seen you since morning..."

Jana recognized person's voice. It was her friend, Micho. "You couldn't, because I didn't want to be seen today..."

Micho looked at Jana, with question in her eyes. She could sense something odd from Jana, and this time it wasn't good for Micho. She felt uncomfortable in Jana's presence.

"Something's wrong?"

Jana stared at her friend. I don't like this question... it's for the second time today somebody asked me this question. And I don't want to reply, I just want to get out. I just need to get rid of my anger. I just need to prove myself worthy, to be *real* Jedi, not only somebody, who has some powers, but isn't able to deal with himself.

No reply from Jana. Only silence was Jana's answer to Micho's question.

"Jana? You all right?"

Everything was burning in Jana. She never liked this. She didn't want to be one, who need someone to comfort her. She wanted to keep it for herself, as she was learned to do so. Jana was learned during her life to rely only on herself. To not trust anybody. Everytime she trusted someone too much, she later only suffered from it.

"Nothing! It's just nothing! Leave me alone, okay?!" Jana almost yelled at her friend. "I... I don't wan't to talk about it, understood?!"

Micho made one step backward. She didn't understand. She could sense that something's troubling Jana, but was unable to say what exactly it was. She could sense how the Force, which could be sensed within Jana, burns with anger, hate and suffering. Micho was scared a bit. Jana was strong in the Force, that's why Micho felt it so intensively and that's why she was scared of Jana a bit.

"I'm sorry, Jana..."

Jana left Micho where she was standing, without any word. Micho was watching Jana's steps. They were quick and Jana wasn't too attentive to her surroundings. She just hurried to somewhere, but Micho didn't want to follow her. Perhaps it will be better to seek out Master Nova or Mark, Jana's Master. Perhaps they will find out what's wrong with Jana, she thought.

**********

Jana headed to the training room. She wanted to get rid of her raw anger. She thought that some physical exercises would serve this purpose well.

When she entered training room she could see Jedi Knight Kenjiro Tanaka. It's just what I need!, Jana thought. I was stupid, when I thought there would be nobody! And what's worse, Kenjiro knows me well... damn!

"Jana! Good to see you! You weren't at Mark's lecture today?"

Bah! He noticed it. I don't like almost everyone could sense I'm not present somewhere. It's because of that damned Force sensitivity. Sometimes it makes things only the worst, nothing more! But I don't need to make it worse this time...

Jana looked at Kenjiro.

"No, I wasn't.", she told him with smile on her face, like nothing happened. Jana had great sense for irony today.

Kenjiro looked at Jana. "Why? You shouldn't miss lectures..."

Jana grinned evilly.

"Why shouldn't I?"

Kenjiro opened his mouth, trying to say something. But Jana disturbed his thoughts.

"It's my concern, isn't it?"

Jana could hardly control herself to not be so rude. But she wasn't able to be polite, even in this case. Why everybody cares about me?! I don't want, ... I don't ask them to do so!

Kenjiro couldn't believe his ears. Jana was so... Yes, Jana was rude. And angry. Kenjiro watched her, how she ignited her lightsaber and with gentle moves destroyed training probes, used for training with lightsabers. In fact, Jana was ignoring Kenjiro, she didn't care about him anymore, that was absolutely clear.

"What happened to you?", Kenjiro asked.

Jana, who was still fighting training probes didn't even look at Kenjiro.
"Nothiiing. It's just nothing!" she said with intention to ignore him again. Perhaps it will be better to go outside... here at the Academy I don't feel comfortable... I don't want to...

"Jana?"

Jana's comlink. It was her Master's voice. She didn't reply.

"Where are you? I'm waiting for you, as I said yesterday."

Jana turned her comlink off. She didn't want to speak with Mark. She looked at Kenjiro, who was watching her, smiled (again with taste of irony) and left the training room, again without any word. She didn't care about anything.

You're silly, really, came into Jana's head. You will have to explain a lot of things. Jana found these thoughts disturbing. One of these thoughts was about Catherine and her own problems. As I said, Cath, we have some things in common, only our problems are perhaps different... perhaps... Perhaps not...
