The little games that she played with him were turned to force mind games. And these turned to full force instructions as he grew and became a young man. He had as much force knowledge as one could have at his age. He was taught to keep it low-keyed. He would never use it against his family or his people. The great power within was in full control and he was humble in its use. His father, Jerrid Syn Zarkan, a Great Lord that ruled all other houses on Kilia IV taught him the art of the blade. His father was once the apprentice of Lord Wallace McGreggor. All his skills that he picked up from Wallace in the cunning art of using a blade were infused on to his sons. Kiel being the brightest learned to hone these skills quickly. His religion is that of an ancient Order that had sprung up on his ancestral world of Othala. It is basically a belief that a man can stand taller if he is not on crutches. (Don’t laugh, I’ll explain) The True Church teaches that if a man relies on the Dragon Fire (force) to do all his biding, then that man is not a true man. Why use the fire to do what you can easily do yourself? *The Dragon Fire (the force) is a crutch that a weak man needs, when he cannot fight a good fight with the strength of his own heart. The true Church teaches that men would die for a man with virtues of true strength and honor...And not for a man of sorcery. If a man was apt to have a Dragon beckoning at his doorsteps and not feed it, then that man, was a true man. Yes, it is all too easy to have the Dragon do your bidding, but it is more befitting of a man to do it himself and be greater. Many more men would follow this man. Once you rely on the vile Dragon Fire, it would forever be in your shadows and this shadow would not be that of a man*. _ The True Teachings This does not mean not to use the force. But it
instills not to abuse it. Not to causually use it to control people
or have them fear of your use of it.
